Our Beginning

Davis Land Design began informally in 1998 when I was studying with the Radcliffe Seminars program in Cambridge, Mass. During that time, I interned with Michael Weinmayr & Associates in Somerville where I was privileged to learn not only about good design but also about the day to day business of Landscape Architecture. Michael and his staff gave me invaluable experience and insight into the field for which I am eternally grateful. While earning my certificate, I began to do some part-time consultation both in Western and Coastal Massachusetts. After graduation, I moved to SouthCoast to practice full-time.

Pots to patios, water gardens to pools, perennial beds to master plans:
After graduation in 2000, I moved to the SouthCoast area of New England and opened a full time design studio specializing in residential waterfront landscape design. Over the years we have evolved to offer a broad range of land design services. Typical projects range from pots to patios, water gardens to pools, and perennial beds to master plans.

Memorial Gardens:
 DLD has worked with families and groups in the design and installation of  several memorial spaces in the SouthCoast area using local materials, including stone and native plants, which are both beautiful and easily maintained for simplicity and longevity.

Our Mission

Much of the work is done on or near the waterfront. We focus increasingly on sustainable landscape design. We work with  our clients to:

1.

eradicate invasive exotics which crowd out our native plants.

2.

Re-charge our landscape instead of creating damaging runoff which ultimately pollutes our Bay.

3.

Build healthy soils for reduced water usage and chemical free lawns.

4.

Install cistern systems for rainwater re-use.

We are pleased to have worked on projects that include installation of a cistern to supply a client's irrigation system, , and preservation of native groundcover to be reused on site in Nantucket.
